Fresh Roots grows communities by growing food. Through urban agriculture, they turn underused spaces into spaces where everyone can gather to enjoy the foods that unite us.
Their landmark project is their schoolyard market gardens, the first of its their kind in Canada for which Fresh Roots received the 2014 Vancouver Award of Excellence in Greenest City Leadership. Developed with the Vancouver School Board, these market gardens on school grounds produce food for the school and the neighbourhood, provide community gathering spaces and also serve as outdoor, interactive classrooms with programming produced by Fresh Roots.
We were lucky enough to work with Fresh Roots to develop their brand strategy and visual identity with the goal to elevate their awareness and credibility to help them attract more partners so they can create more community market gardens.
