An external perspective for the City of Vancouver's Affordable Housing Strategy

The initial phase involved conducting a sector audit, which included interviews with leaders in For-Profit Development, Non-Profit Development, Indigenous Housing, Architecture, Construction, and Neighbourhood Associations. This process allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges affecting the delivery of affordable housing solutions. We presented our insights to city staff, significantly influencing the development of the new housing strategy.

Subsequently, our role transitioned from developing strategic insights to determining the best way to convey these findings to the public in an easily comprehensible and engaging manner. .

We established an umbrella brand known as Vibrant Vancouver, later evolving into Housing Vancouver, complete with a graphic system and color palette. This brand has since been applied to all Civic housing projects in Vancouver.

We engaged Cause+Affect to help reset our current Affordable Housing Strategy. Jane, Steven and their team integrated seamlessly with ours and almost immediately proved invaluable for their ability to package complex issues and communicate across diverse interests.
